Islam. We Can't Not Talk About It.

Is Islam really a religion of peace?
Has it moderated since its violent founding?
Is Europe under siege from Islam?
How should Britons respond to the most recent murders?
Does Islam have a role to play in the end times?
Is Islam the most destructive ideology in world history?
What’s up with the beheading fetish?
What is the Christian viewpoint on Islam?
How should we judge the sincerity of Islamic activists?
How can non-Muslims defend themselves from the worst aspects of Islamic ideology?
We’ll cover all of this and more in today’s white paper, entitled The Ideology of Islam: A British Christian Perspective.

This publication is invaluable for its economic commentary, but it should avoid getting into theology. Each times it denounced an entire religious tradition, like "Hinduism", which is actually called Sanātana Dharma and is so old and huge that it dwarfs all of Western thought, or Islam, which is comprised of countless esoteric currents, there is a remarkable lack of subtlety and subject knowledge on display. The writing clearly references just exoterism with no understanding of metaphysics, and it confuses ideology with theology. To say that Islam is one unified thing is to say that the Westboro Baptist Church and Russian Orthodoxy are equivalent, when they are clearly not even in the same ballpark.
The Quran is famously steeped in strategic hyperbole, veil, and purposeful contradiction as a means of conveying particular doctrinal features, and to undertake in reading it with no background in the tradition, let alone no understanding of comparative theology, is like reading the Bible from a strictly literal, exoterism-only lens. Similarly, to conflate Islamic extremism with doctrine is to confuse Catholic child abuse with the trinity, or to say that Christianity in its entirety will always lead to the Crusades. Islamic extremism is a political movement existing solely in reaction to neoliberal meddling. Similarly, to denounce Hinduism (esoterism and exoterism alike), the most comprehensive system of metaphysics ever devised, for causing poverty, even though India was ravaged by British imperialist subjugation and thrust into generational unrest, is like AirBnB ruining the housing market and then blaming poor people for not being able to afford houses. To compare a country's economic and social state in the modern hegemony with the doctrine of its religious traditions is intellectually dishonest and Calvinist in nature. Conflating material success with God's salvation is prideful and technically disallowed in Christian doctrine, as a Christian is not allowed to speculate on soteriology.
